Her interest in the psychodynamic approach has led her to pursue advanced clinical training in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy at the Australian Centre for Integrative Studies, and Psychodynamic Couples Therapy at Tavistock Relationships. She has also trained at the Somatic Experience Trauma Institute in Somatic Experiencing – a form of therapy specifically developed for healing symptoms related to trauma.
During Jo’s career she has worked in psychiatric settings, the not-for-profit sector and private practice, giving her insight into the broad range of concerns and symptoms that can impact people’s lives. While Jo’s understanding of mental and emotional health is broad, she has extensive experience and a particular interest in trauma, anxiety & depression, body image, self-esteem, parenting, relationships, and addictions.
Jo always endeavours to create a safe and trusting environment in which clients can explore and move through their individual concerns, past experiences and negative patterns holding them back. Every session is tailored to the client’s unique needs and goals.
