Therapist Profile - David Hollier
David Hollier is a counsellor and psychotherapist with a Masters of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
David is able to work with a broad range of presentations, including clients presenting with anxiety, trauma, addictions, sexuality issues and depression. He also works with people with anger problems, and individuals who are experiencing recurring problems in their relationships. In addition, he has worked as a Problem Gambling Counsellor at both Lifeline and Wesley Mission.
David is trained in a range of therapeutic techniques, including Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Gestalt. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, David adapts the therapeutic technique to each individual client and his/her particular needs.
David’s counselling seeks to empower his clients to independently take charge of their lives. Throughout his career, David has been interested in the foundations of identity, and how we come to terms with being human. As a counsellor, he provides his clients with a safe and supportive environment in which to investigate their lives and their relationships with others, and to help them overcome life’s obstacles.
