Therapist Profile - Lê Hoang

Lê Hoang is a Counsellor with over 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples, children and families. She holds a Bachelor of Counselling and Human Change and a Graduate Diploma in Relationships Systemic Therapy. Before moving to private practice, Lê worked with Relationships Australia and Uniting (previously Unifam).

Lê specialises in relationship and family counselling. She is highly experienced working with issues around decision-making, conflict resolution, enhancing communication, post-separation parenting, and blended families.

In addition to relationship counselling, Lê works with clients to address a range of concerns including self-esteem, depression, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, anger management and cross-cultural issues. Whilst she primarily works from a Systemic and Client-Centred approach, Lê also draws from Attachment Theory, Gottman Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques.

Lê views counselling as a collaborative process, wherein the client indicates what the resolution of their concerns looks like, and the counsellor helps the client to learn new skills and adopt new perspectives to address their issues. She recognises that clients come to counselling from diverse life experiences and acknowledges their uniqueness.

In her approach to counselling, and particularly in the first session, Lê likes for her clients to feel at ease, listened to and understood. She aims to cultivate a comfortable environment in which her clients can voice their concerns and have a counsellor who is confident to work through their issues with them.
