Therapist Profile - Debbie Navara

Debbie Navara is a Registered Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Life Coach and an accredited Clinical Member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). She holds various Post Graduate qualifications in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Metavision Institute, as well as accreditations in both education and corporate coaching, including a Masters in Educational Technology from the University of Southern Queensland.

Beginning her career in tertiary, corporate and community settings, Debbie has worked extensively with individuals from culturally and economically diverse communities, developing personalised healing strategies to overcome general and complex mental health. Prior to commencing professional counselling, Debbie’s role as an educator in a number of Australian universities not only furthered her understanding of the unique challenges and needs that individuals have, but also helped shape her integrated approach to therapy today.

In private practice, Debbie focuses on both vulnerability and curiosity to gain clarity on her clients’ concerns, empowering them towards a deeper level of wellbeing and resilience. Using a variety of therapeutic modalities, Debbie has a particular interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy. Within her sessions, Debbie assists individuals in a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, grief and loss, trauma, relationship concerns, as well as life and career coaching.

Debbie is a compassionate and warm practitioner, providing safe and gentle spaces to help individuals discover their own inner resources and bravely move through the therapeutic journey.
