Therapist Profile - Sally Walsh

Sally is a Registered Clinical Psychotherapist and PACFA-Registered Mental Health Practitioner with over 13 years experience in the counselling industry. She holds a Masters in Psychotherapy and Counselling (Gestalt Therapy Sydney), various accreditations in the treatment of psychosis and trauma, and was a board member of the Women’s Sydney Counselling Centre for a number of years.

Sally has worked extensively with a diverse range of clients (individuals, couples and families) in private practice and in the wellbeing and coaching space, as well as for charity and not-for-profit-organisations such as Lifeline.

Sally applies a specifically humanistic and holistic style to her therapy, helping her clients grow and become free from patterns of negative fixed behaviours. Tailoring a range of therapeutic modalities to the individual, Sally draws from her experience and training in Gestalt Therapy, Depth Enquiry, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Inner-Child Work, and negative-thought processing.

Sally is confident to assist her clients with a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship concerns, self-esteem, pre/post-natal issues, as well as more complex mental health such as addiction, borderline personality disorder, OCD and eating disorders. Sally also has a special interest in treating trauma-related disorders, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), to which her training in Depth Enquiry is particularly relevant.

Working with couples, Sally focuses on how partners in the relationship deal with differences, rather than what these differences are, and can assist with issues including communication, arguments, intimacy, sexual issues, infidelity and stagnation.

Sally is a warm and compassionate therapist, supporting her clients on their journey of growth and change. Personalising her sessions to meet the unique needs of each individual or couple, Sally equips her clients with the tools they need to move on to more fulfilling lives.
